Usually introduced around 6 months
Steam until soft. Cut stems lengthwise, not into round coins, so they don't act like a plug. Mash or finely chop florets if preferred.
Florets with crowns about three adult fingers wide, or stalk sticks the thickness of two fingers cut lengthwise.
Keep steaming until tender. Raw or undercooked broccoli is firm enough to be a choking hazard, so cook it through.
Small bite-sized pieces of cooked stem or floret. If pickup is hard, go back to bigger pieces for now.
Reduce cooking time gradually as your toddler chews and tears better. Crisp-tender is fine once they manage it.
Bite-sized pieces, the right size for fork practice and self-feeding.
Most babies can try Broccoli from around 6 months, once they show signs of readiness. Check the prep and cut-size notes above before you start.
