How to serve by age

6-9 months

Prep:

Mix iron-fortified rice cereal with breast milk, formula, or water to a thick porridge. Start with a half spoonful and serve on a pre-loaded spoon, never in a bottle.

Cut:

Thick, scoopable texture that holds on the spoon.

9-12 months

Prep:

Thicken the consistency as baby gains experience. Mix with fruit or vegetable purée. Iron-fortified is still preferred at this age.

12-18 months

Prep:
