How to serve by age

6-9 months

Prep:

Fresh, soft tapioca crepe (Brazilian style) with a soft filling. Skip chewy boba-style pearls; they are a choking risk for infants.

Cut:

Small bite-sized pieces of filled tapioca, or mashed with the filling.

9-12 months

Prep:

Soft tapioca crepe filled with cheese, fruit, or egg. Continue avoiding boba-style pearls.

Cut:

Small bite-sized pieces.

12-18 months

Prep:

Soft tapioca preparations: filled tapioca crepes with cheese, fruit, or egg, or tapioca pudding. Pearls remain a chew-and-spit risk; supervise closely.

Cut:

Soft. Bite-sized pieces for filled crepes.
